Whimsical D

Sure why not …

[Where I've Been]

[UNITED STATES OF AMERICA]

I have been all over the US traveling for work, vacations and moving.  I have lived in Washington DC, North Carolina and California.  I drove across the US from North Carolina to California (2,450 miles) and got to see so much of America.

[BARBADOS]

I went on a surf trip to Barbados during college with a few friends from North Carolina.  We stayed in a shack that we rented from a very sweet Bajan lady right on Soup Bowls in Bathsheba.  It is an amazing country, but you have to be very careful of the sea urchins.  There was some great surf when we were there.  I got to surf Soup Bowls, Brandons, Duppies and High Rock.  I nearly drowned at Duppies.

[GERMANY]

I was in Germany this summer (2009)  for the German Games Convention.  We flew into Munich where I got to see the super airport and then off to Köln for the rest of the trip.  Köln is such a amazing city.  We walked to the top of the Kölner Dom (all 500+ steps) to get the most amazing view of the city.  The people were so great and man did they have some epic beer!

[ST. LUCIA]

This spring I spent my honeymoon in St. Lucia.  Erin and I were there for 10 days.  It was perfect.  The water is so blue and warm.  The people were so accommodating and fun.  I think I gained 20 pounds on that trip because of the rum punch.  We snorkeled, zip-lined through a rain forest on 200 ft. trees and went on a very relaxing cruise around the island.

[MEXICO]

I have been to Mexico a couple times.  We went to Acapulco when I was a kid for a family vacation.  All I really remember from that trip was that my mom went parasailing and I had a panic attack because I didn’t think she was coming back (I was like 6 okay).  Most recently I went on a surf trip down to Baja with a friend.  We stayed in Calafia at this converted monastery right on this really great right-hand point break.  It was a really fun trip and we almost died a few times but made it out.
