My Dr. said I can’t get the cocaine

March 10, 2010

So I went to the eye Dr. today with the hopes that I would be able to get the LASIK.  When you get LASIK they put cocaine in your eyes to numb them.  Turns out because of my eye condition I can’t get the LASIK , so no drugs for me.

Size 11 keyboard almost as cool as Data’s slick shoes

I got some new shoes, not that exciting.  But wait I flipped them over and the tread pattern is a keyboard, now that is exciting.

Remember the watch story from Pulp Fiction … same principle but better execution

February 10, 2010

My mom flew out from NC today which is a six hour flight that covers over two thousand miles.  My mom always brings gifts, usually a new Marsh’s Surf Shop t-shirt or some Eastern Surf mags.  Well this time mom out did herself.  She smuggled Kami and I a twelve piece Bo’ Jangles chicken dinner with four biscuits, words cannot describe how awesome this is.  My mom sacrificed valuable carry on space that could have been used to bring her beloved tabloid magazines to bring her children their favorite snack food.  It was delicious.  I was so stoked I had two biscuits in like five minutes.

Thanks mom — you ROCK!!!!

Sounds from way back when

January 14, 2010

This week has sent me some sounds from the past.  It rained in SoCal, which never happens, and I fell asleep listening to the rain.  It reminded me of the summer storms we used to get in Atlantic Beach NC and the winters on campus when you would wake up to the rain and skip class (sorry mom) because it was freezing out and trekking across campus in the freezing rain was not worth the lecture  in the freshman seminar class that was full of like 300 kids who smelled like the frat party from the night before.

I also heard the sound of a band I haven’t heard in like 14 years, Creamy Velour. I love that band and the one album they put out only in NC.  It is packed full of some really great times.  I think I spent like $100 dollars playing that album @ the Corner Bar on the juke box.

If only The First Carolina Deli would send me an Arlington (Mmmmmm) … okay so I went to the FCD web page and the Arlington is not on the menu anymore!  That’s just wrong, how did the Taylor Ham & Cheese make it but not the Arlington?  Time to end the rant.

My iphone told me I am dumb today

January 9, 2010

Erin is a bit under the weather and I am helping out with the errands.  Today’s errand was to get Dutcher’s some more dog food.  We have coupons so I have to go to Petco, not Pet Smart which I know how to get to.  I headed out thinking I’ll use my iphone 3GS to find my way.  I searched for the closest coupon loving Petco, which happens to be on Sepulveda south of Washington and headed out.  I didn’t really look too close at the address, just that I needed to turn right off Wash. on Sepulveda and I’ll run into Petco,  so that’t what I did.  I was on Sepulveda for a bit and thought I may have missed it.  Naturally I pulled over and looked at iphone maps to see the Petco address  and then I was going to look at a building close to me to check the address and see if I was close.  I pulled over, put my car in park, turned on my hazards, googled the Sepulveda Petco address and looked up to see if I was in fact close and low and behold I pulled over and parked right in front of the f’n Petco and had been sitting there searching for it for like 5 minutes.  I mean literally right in front of the two glass entrance doors under the Giant PETCO sign.  Columbus would have been proud!  At least Georgia Tech beat Duke today.

Between the Bread — as seen on TV

January 5, 2010

Erin and I were watching TV tonight after our walk and of course we went straight to the food network after some exercise.  As soon as we pressed 54 on the remote it was magic,  the most amazing sandwich ever made, THE GODMOTHER, staring right at us.  Needless to say I will be @ Bay Cities tomorrow for lunch, I just have to now.  I’ll need some good parking karma and hopefully I’ll pull a low “now serving” number.  Last  time I was there they were serving 15 and I was like 93, but I waited and it is always worth the wait.
